Presentation title: Challenges on Microstructure Control during Seamless Pipe Production
Ricardo Nolasco de Carvalho is graduated in Mechanical Engineer by University of São Paulo (1990), MSc and PhD in Metallurgical Engineering by University of Minas Gerais (1993 and 2007) and visiting researcher on Corrosion at University of Virginia in 2015. He was chief expert at Vallourec, working for 26 years on development of steel processes and products for OCTG, line pipe, structural and automotive applications. Since 2008, he is a professor at Catholic University of Minas Gerais and, more recently, he has joined the Senai Center for Innovation and Technology as visiting researcher and CBMM as technical consultant. He is interested in physical metallurgy and conformation, working in the following themes: hot rolling, heat treatment, physical simulation of processes, microstructure modelling, mechanical behavior, corrosion, failure analysis, among others.
