Plant Tour

We are providing an option for delegates to visit the nearby plants (details below) on last day of the conference. Transportation and food will be arranged by us. We can accommodate a limited number of delegates for each plant and it would be based on first come first serve basis. In order to arrange the Post Technical-Visits smoothly, please give us the confirmation before August 25, 2024. On-site registration is not accepted.

Xiangtan Steel Cultural Park is located in Chairman Mao's hometown, close to Xiangjiang River, in Yuetang District, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. It is 66.7 km away from Changsha Huanghua International Airport and 6.1 km away from Xiangtan North Railway Station. Changsha-Xiangtan West Highway, Beijing-Zhuhai Highway and Shanghai-Kunming Highway are connected to the park. The main road in the park Gangcheng Avenue have been connected with Xiangtan Avenue, which is a two-way, four-lane first-class road, and there are several bus lines going to the park. Xiangtan Steel, established in 1958, was one of the "5 medium-sized steel players" in the strategic planning of “3 steel giants, 5 medium players and 18 small players” in Chinese steel industry, which undertook the important historical mission of "developing inland industry" in the “2nd five-year Plan”of the national economy.

The agenda of Xiangtan Steel cultural park tour is as follows:

1. Xiangtan Steel Factory History Museum

Xiangtan Steel Factory History Museum is a multi-functional cultural base to carry out factory history education and present brand image, which opened on November 5, 2018. The museum has two floors, with total size of 678 square meters. It covers preface hall and 4 chapters, "Steel plants planning, based in Xiangtan", "Shoulder the mission, striving is the only way forward", "Pass on valuable experience from generation to generation", "facing the future and building everlasting business". It presents full view of the glorious course of arduous efforts, exploration and innovation, and forging ahead, and vividly demonstrates the mission of Xiangtan Steel pemployees to "Well build Chairman Mao's hometown and build a powerful country with high quality products".

2. Shunxiang Wharf

Shunxiang Wharf is dedicated for shipping steel products with the largest throughput in Xiangjiang River, located on the right bank of Yangmeizhou reach of Xiangjiang River, with a total length of 315m. It covers an area of 12000 square meters, has three 1000-ton berths and was officially put into operation in 2010. The wharf has one 50-ton gantry crane and three 40-ton gantry cranes, with an annual shipping capacity of nearly 3 million tons, and can berth up to 5000 tons of ships during the flood season.

3. 5m Plate Rolling Mill

The 5m plate rolling mill has the most leading equipment gloablly. The main equipment was designed by Siemens-VAI, manufactured by CFHI, and put into production in October 2010. The main products are steel for vessels and marine engineering, high-rise buildings and bridges, pressure vessels, construction machinery, etc., which are widely applied in many super projects such as Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shanghai Central Tower, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Russian Yamal Project etc.
