Douglas Stalheim is currently President of DGS Metallurgical Solutions, Inc., a technical consulting business serving the oil, gas and metals industry for over 18 years. Doug has a BS in Metallurgical Engineering with over 42 years of practical industrial experience from steel employment to consulting services (Armco Steel, Ravenswood Aluminum, Oregon Steel Mills, CBMM, Nanjing Iron & Steel, Essar, Erdemir, Hyundai Steel, Shougang Steel, Xiangtan Steel, Primetals, Durabond Pipe, Berg Pipe, Energy Transfer, Kinder Morgan, and others). This includes but is not limited to all aspects of API/structural (flats/longs) steel production (plate mill, hot strip mill, Steckel mill, bar mill, section mill, downstream processing, etc.), metallurgical design, end use and marketing. Doug is a member of ASM, AIST, ASME and ASME B31.12 Codes and Standard for Hydrogen Piping and Pipelines committee member. Doug has authored and/or co-authored over 100 technical publications with over 70 training and conference presentations and received SD School of Mines & Technology 2017 Outstanding Alumni Award.
