Presentation title: The Influence of Vanadium on Acicular Ferrite and Bainite Microstructures in Microalloyed High Strength Low Alloy Steels

Kip Findley is the John Henry Moore Professor at the Colorado School of Mines in the G.S. Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, where he has worked since 2008.  Before joining Mines, he served as an Undergraduate Research Professor at Washington State University in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. At Mines, he teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in mechanical behavior of materials and is the Associate Director of the Advanced Steel Processing and Products Research Center (ASPPRC). The ASPPRC is an industry-university collaborative research center with industrial and national laboratory partners who are users and producers of steel products. Kip Findleys research interests involve linking mechanical behavior of metals, primarily steel, to microstructural features at a variety of length scales. During his time at Mines, he has received the Mines Faculty Excellence Award and was named a Fellow of ASM International. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology. Kip Findley has a B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Mechanics of Materials from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
