Presentation title: Opportunities provided by application of modern fine grain steel for steel structure in offshore wind facing the >15MW class of turbines

Today Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Langenberg works as funder, owner and CEO of IWT-Solutions AG in Aachen Germany. The company is specialized on consulting in structural integrity in industry and infrastructure application, damage case analysis and expertise for arbitration.

On the academic level he teaches as Honorary Professor at University Duisburg-Essen, Germany, Faculty of Civil Engineering and also as Lecturer at RWTH University Aachen, University Dortmund.

He studied Materials Science at RWTH Aachen University (Dipl.-Ing.) followed by a PHD at RWTH Aachen University (Instute of Ferrous Metallurgy) on The application of fracture mechanics for welded structures.

He is also educated as International Welding Engineer (IWE) and specialised in in fracture mechanics and fatigue for welded steel constructions, steel casting and cast iron in all areas of application. (> 30 years experience)
